How can we transition enterprises from private data silos into collaborative data sharing? That was the question we posed in August as we dove deep into exploring private versus public data exchange in the global enterprise environment. This relates to data privacy control in nOS, which was designed to easily connect legacy systems with the OriginTrail Decentralized Network (ODN) and create interoperability for data exchanges between them. Kosmos we will see improvements to the GS1 import integration experience, by adding full GS1 data validation to further speed up integrations, as well as the first implementation of the market bidding mechanisms. Finally by this release we will publish our blockchain virtualization documentation explaining the blockchain layer of the protocol.

Each member brings a new perspective and experience to the alliance, making it a truly diverse and collaborative hub. In the past year, a lot has been achieved and Trace Alliance is firmly established as one of the leading organizations in the field.

Since the Freedom-Gemini Network launch in Q4 2019, the development team has released ten updates for the OriginTrail node client and entered the new quarter by checking off a milestone with the v4.1 release. We are still actively involved in many European projects where we are putting to use a range of OriginTrail capabilities. Each month, an update on our ongoing activities can be found in the monthly reports, whereas the quarterly report is a wrap up of key achievements. OriginTrail is an ecosystem dedicated to making global supply chains work together by enabling a universal, collaborative and trusted data exchange.

Surveyor will be the first release to utilize the consensus check (the validation mechanism for interactions between supply chain parties used in OriginTrail protocol) based on the privacy sublayer of OT protocol. It will also introduce improvements to the bidding mechanism and token utilization. This release also introduces the first version of the zero-knowledge privacy sublayer in the protocol. The OriginTrail team plans to accomplish this by building the OriginTrail Decentralized Network (ODN), which consists of a data layer and a network layer. The ODN is built on top of the underlying blockchain, allowing its users to negotiate, transfer and process data, verify data integrity, and reimburse provider nodes.

OriginTrail has been featured in a post under the biggest Reddit Cryptocurrency Thread with 0.5MM followers and has been upvoted to one of the trending posts, thus increasing exposure significantly. OriginTrail’s Co-founder & CTO Branimir Rakić presented at the Oracle SEE Partner Executive Forum. At this exclusive event, Oracle’s partners learned how OriginTrail and Oracle Blockchain enable trusted, scalable data exchange.

In the OriginTrail solution stack, the data layer consists of a highly performant, decentralized, graph database that connects data sets across supply chains and ensures interoperability based on global standards. The team is currently improving the data layer to support a greater variety of use cases. As a part of these endeavors, we are also running tests by uploading different data sizes with different longevity parameters to the ODN mainnet.

The OriginTrail protocol documentation is now completely refreshed and updated with more information about the permissioned data features from the new v4.1 release

OriginTrail’s co-founder Tomaž Levak was invited to contribute to the Zage report on real-world applications of blockchain technology. OriginTrail’s co-founder Žiga Drev was invited to speak at World Crypto Con in Las Vega 2019.

August was marked by setting strong foundations for development in the autumn and future months. Adoption and protocol development remained the key goals for the development team. August was crucial for thought leadership and setting the discussion for important directions for the OriginTrail ecosystem, both in terms of private versus public data sharing and the next steps for the Trace Alliance.

We had a new technical release Node version v3 (Freedom) which is now deployed on testnet. It introduces the litigation mechanisms in the OriginTrail protocol. OriginTrail is now part of the Oracle Cloud Marketplace with nOS. Network Operating System is a hub for open industry data exchange, combining the benefits of the blockchain, global standards, and enterprise software.

OriginTrail is an ecosystem dedicated to making supply chains work together since 2011, contributing to a more transparent, fair, and trusted global supply chain. To learn more about what sets OriginTrail apart, and how they are poised to capture a significant share of this growing market, be sure to read their whitepaper and visit their website. You can stay in the OriginTrail loop by visiting their Medium page and joining their Telegram group. OriginTrail’s protocol will support a wide variety of their clientele’s current software management systems, supporting both legacy systems and enterprise-resource-planning (ERP) software. A public decentralized solution for performance, cost and scalability issues by providing a tailored decentralized system for supply chain data based on blockchain.

Looking at the bigger picture — the supply chain industry — we’ll be able to see how OriginTrail can make industry-wide improvements on a global scale. OriginTrail Quarterly Report — Q The first quarter of 2020 was marked with many challenges, but the OriginTrail ecosystem once again proved its resilience.

OriginTrail (TRAC) empowers consistent information sharing along any store network. Decentralized, blockchain-bolstered stage guarantees trust, straightforwardness, and security. It enables organizations to trade applicable information consistently and secury to manufacture responsibility, ensure their brands and increment efficiencies. Summer is not the season for major events, so the team’s core focus was on planning presence for the future. In the autumn months, we plan to spread quite some time on the road and spread the word about the OriginTrail protocol to industry events worldwide.

It is a major crypto event in the USA, part of Vegas Blockchain Week. August also brought some trouble for the popular community-led website OThub, which is currently down. We are aware that OThub is missed and have reached out to its author. The OriginTrail core development team will try to help with bringing this valuable community resource back online. Trace Alliance now boasts almost 100 members committed to collaboration in implementing novel, blockchain-based solutions to supply chains.

It is designed to enable frictionless adoption of the OriginTrail Decentralised Network. In layman’s terms, OriginTrail protocols will work with different blockchains, and even non-blockchain based businesses, allowing for seamless transmission of data. It’s worth noting that while there are currently decentralized solutions for supply chain data, the OriginTrail team has concluded them to be inadequate. For more information on this, check out page 7 of their whitepaper.

Keep the discussion here alive and let’s keep OriginTrail subreddit clean. It will be much easier for other users to find what they are looking for. In GS1’s blockchain position paper released in October 2018, OriginTrail founder Ziga Drev was featured in reference to the interoperability between ecosystems on page 5. The combination of OriginTrail’s blockchain agnosticism and alignment with established business communication standards puts them in a great position to capture an industry with plenty of room to grow.
